Alan D Borisoff was born in Rochester New York and graduated from Brighton High School in 1960. Alan then attended Syracuse University where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting in 1964. Straight out of Syracuse, Alan joined his father, Sam Borisoff, in his CPA firm in Rochester. For 4 years Alan worked along side his father learning the profession and studying for the CPA exam.
In 1968, Alan received his CPA licensure and became a partner at his father's firm. For 10 years they worked together as partners in their firm. In 1978, Alan and his father merged their firm with a large local firm expanding to a much larger capacity. In 1979, Alan decided to make the move to San Diego, California.
When arriving in San Diego Alan first joined the local firm George Peterson & Co. as the firm's Tax Manager. After 6 years working as the tax manager, Alan decided to leave Peterson to form his own firm. Since 1985 Alan has been serving the north county San Diego area (and clients from all over the country) in his own practice with services that include individual and small business tax preparation, tax planning, estate planning, financial statement preparation and reviews and many more accounting services.
In January of 2013 Alan brought on a new accountant (his son-in-law Derek) to work along side of him for the first time in many years and although Alan recently celebrated 50 years in the accounting business he still looks forward to putting in many years serving his clients and doing his life's work.
Alan has been and continues to be a member of many professional groups including: the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) since 1968, member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) since 1969, member of the Alpha Kappa Psi Fraternity Alpha Omicron Chapter since 1974, and a member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CALCPA) since 1980.
